Game directors and Designers to benefit from Tax Credits

Malta Budget News

CSB Group has learnt that Finance Minister Tonio Fenech said today that the government will introduce various measures to boost investment in digital games.

The minister stated this adding that €150,000 will be allocated for a Malta Games Fund for promotion of this sector.

Local companies would be able to benefit from tax credits which will help commission educational digital games.

Should foreign professionals be attracted to Malta for work in this area, they would also benefit from a flat rate of taxation of 15%. This would be the case should their work involve being game directors or game designers. This is a scheme will also be available for academics and researchers.
