Do I have to pay to register with VacancyCentre.com? No, all recruitment services we offer to job-seekers are completely free of charge; legally we are not allowed to charge a candidate a fee. This free service includes our registration process for you to open an account with us as well as other services such as Jobmail, SMS Jobs and our e-newsletters.
Do I have to visit your offices to register? No! You can register online at your own time and leisure, and in the comfort of your home. You only need to visit our offices when we call you in for an interview to get to know you better. We strive to be an online job centre, meaning that you also apply for jobs when you want, no matter where you are! To register you have to use a unique email address as your username, and your secure password. As easy as that!
What is the most important information I need to fill in on VacancyCentre.com? It is of the utmost importance that you fill in all information requested on our website. We appreciate that it is quite an exhaustive form; however this form gives us a true and fair picture of the candidate. Furthermore, when you fill in all the information requested, you will be speeding up your matching process, as this will make you more searchable on our database. In this way, we might put you in touch with recruiters you were never in touch with before!
I really don't have the time to fill in all the information that is being requested, can I just attach my CV? The facility to attach ones CV is in place, however, we strongly suggest that these details be transferred onto our form (it's really just a matter of copying and pasting). All details submitted will form part of our database - without such information you may not be contacted for suitable vacancies that come available.
I have attached my CV, can someone at VacancyCentre.com enter this information into your database? Unfortunately, this is not possible. VacancyCentre.com receives thousands of applications and if we were to enter every applicant's details in our database there would be little or no time left to do what we know best - finding your dream job!
Why is my account locked after I fill or amend my information? Whenever a new account is opened or an existing account is edited, the account is locked and will be unlocked by the VacancyCentre.com staff after the latter have sifted through the new/edited information. As our business is built on ethical and quality information, we must ensure that the information in our database and/or uploaded on our website is quality data which meets the requirements of our clients.
What happens if I make my profile public? If you decide to make your profile public, your profile, less personal identifiable information will be uploaded to our CV Bank on VacancyCentre.com and will be available for public viewing. Viewers include prospective employers and VacancyCentre.com clients only! Further, your details will never be exposed without your prior consent.
How do I know which fields will show in my Public Profile? Once you are completing our form to open an account with us, you will notice the tool tips underneath each field which will pinpoint that the field will show in the Public Profile. Furthermore, users' attention is drawn to the fact that the data made publicly available through the website can be viewed by the user to whom such information relates under the 'My Public Profile' tab upon logging in to the website. It is important to pinpoint that users should ensure that the information contained in their public profile is accurate in all respects and does not contain and/or include any identifiable personal data whatsoever.
How secure is the data I fill in on VacancyCentre.com? Once you are register with us and/or log in to your account, you will notice a small padlock on the bottom right hand-side. This means that since our website uses a security protocol, information that you provide is encrypted so that other people cannot read it.
Do I need to contact you if I forget my password? If you forgot your password, you can retrieve your password via our website. You need only to go to the 'My Account' tab in our main menu, and click on 'Forgot Your Password?' You will be asked to submit a form with the correct email address and an email containing your password will be sent to your attention. This is an automated process ensuring that your password remains your own and no one, not even VacancyCentre.com staff will have access to it!
What are the main recruitment stages? After you open an account with us and providing that a suitable vacancy is available, we will call you in for an interview in order to get to know you better. We might then propose vacancies which we have on file by informing you who the employer is and what their expectations are. With your consent we will forward your personal details and CV to the said employer along with our recommendation and wait for feedback This is an ongoing process whereby you will be contacted every time a suitable vacancy becomes available and your details (always with your consent) will be forwarded along with a shortlist of others, and on the basis of the latter, the employer will decide whom to interview.
How often do I need to communicate with you? We urge you to keep a line of communication with us throughout the whole process, including when an employer contacts your directly and when an offer of employment is made. Furthermore, we will strive to keep you informed of any feedback we receive from employers, including whether or not you were short-listed for a particular vacancy.
What is the average matching time? This is difficult to tell, as it very much depends on your experience, your qualifications but more importantly on the jobs we have available at a particular point in time. However, we do urge you to open an account with us and kick start your job hunt -you never know, you might well be our next placement!
What happens if I find alternative employment? Once you find alternative employment, we kindly ask you to inform us so that we will not keep your application active. Your application will however remain on file, should you decide to re-activate your application at any later stage.
How confidential is my information throughout the whole process? Our motto states 'Confidentiality is Our Commitment'. We always need your permission to pass your name to an employer and we will specifically ask you if your want to be considered for a particular position.
