Introduction

The selected candidate will be responsible for the personnel in the Finance Department and ensures that they follow established policies and procedures in compliance with accounting principles and fiscal requirements for the maintenance of proper accounting records and the preparation of timely management accounts and reports as requested.

Function

  • Manage, lead and motivate the members of the Finance Department on a continuous basis in line with the culture of the Group
  • Supervise and monitor the work of the Finance Department personnel in line with Group policies and procedures, accounting standards and fiscal requirements
  • Propose, draft and execute policies and procedures to administer the Finance Department and financial areas within the Group in collaboration with the CFO
  • Prepare the monthly management statements regularly and on time to allow the review of the company’s financial performance
  • Actively lead the preparation of the yearly budget and regular forecasts together with other Department Heads and the CFO
  • Be the first line of contact of the external auditors to ensure a prompt and accurate preparation of the statutory audit
  • Ensure the timely monitoring of debtors, credit control and effective reporting to the CFO, and Senior Management as required

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a senior accounting role
  • Fully qualified accountant
  • Analytical mindset
  • Excellent communication in Maltese and English
  • Ability to manage and mention junior officers
  • Conversant with MS Office applications namely MS Excel
