Duties include:
- Execute designated responsibilities in accordance with internal regulations and procedures.
- Report all relevant and/or irregular matters encountered in daily operations in a timely and correct manner to the direct supervisor.
- Monitor internal and external developments that might influence daily operations of the unit and report timely and correctly to the direct supervisor.
- Keep Bank and Customer related information confidential.
- Guide and assist the juniors of the department in order to process the work properly
- Ensure timely to distribution of compliance information to new employees together with acknowledgements to sign;
- Inform staff about new compliance policies and procedures.
- Take initiative in anticipating such developments by preparing proposal to the direct supervisor
- Follow relevant training and courses related to these current and possible future responsibilities when deemed necessary by the direct supervisor or higher levels of authority.
- Owns responsibility for overall compliance of Malta branch with applicable laws and regulations
- Attends and assists with inspections carried out by MFSA & FIAU
- Carry out the role of MLRO for Malta Branch.
- Carry out the preparation and coordination of responses to requests submitted by the regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate with the Head Office Compliance Division to address issues raised in internal/external audit reports
- Candidates must ideally be PQ'd by the MFSA
- Candidates must hold excellent knowledge of AML regulations
- Previous experience in a similar role is required
- Fluency in Maltese and English
