Responsibilities
- overall leadership of the finance team - team of 6;
- assisting in the periodical review of the finance team individual performance;
- monthly high level review of the trial balance for all companies, or as required;
- monthly review and approval of bank reconciliations, fixed assets registers and intercompany reconciliations;
- preparation of monthly management accounts including notes and analysis of key variances to budget and previous years;
- end of year closure, performing a preliminary balance sheet audit and assisting during the audit process;
- assisting in the submission of local and EU funded applications and ensuring the actual claim of funds thereafter;
- setting up new internal controls and policies and enforcing company wide policies, including but not limited to debtors ageing, stock takes and cash reconciliation;
- devise new policy documents to be discussed and approved by the CFO in relation to debtors ageing, stock takes and others;
- assisting in the preparation of yearly budgets, devising KPIs for each division manager and monitoring material variances to budgets;
- updating of standard operating procedures (SOPs) from time to time;
Applicants need to be warranted accountants and ideally having previous track record of managing previous finance teams. Good communication skills in both English and Maltese would be preferred.
