Duties include:
- Follow all regulatory changes relevant to the industry, provide analysis of the changes and communicate it effectively across the company
- Draft and provide day-to-day advice and guidance on legal and compliance matters as and when necessary
- Working with the Risk Officer and MLRO to enhance the compliance culture
- Reviewing and/or drafting of policies and procedures in line with applicable regulations
- Prepare, maintain, and execute the Compliance Programme
- Prepare and execute the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan
- Be a point of contact with regulators as required
- Act as Compliance Officer
- Identifying legal issues, providing analysis of legal risks and creating and implementing solutions structured to achieve business objectives efficiently
- Drafting, negotiating and review of commercial contracts and agreements
- Overseeing contractual obligations
- Be involved in management committees as applicable and assist Board in taking proper and timely decisions
- The ideal candidate must possess at least 3 years of experience working in similar senior position
- Excellent knowledge of MFSA regulations and law
- Possess a Doctor of Law
- Ideally candidate must be previously approved by the MFSA for a similar role.
- Good communication and interpersonal skill
- Able to lead, manage and grow the legal and compliance team in line
