The HR Manager will work as part of the team to lead, develop and run HR strategies, policies and procedures in line with the organization's culture and current employment law legislation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the team to provide efficient Human Resources service covering HR disciplines
  • Assist with orientation of newly hired employees
  • Working hand in hand with the Director and management and influencing them on the best course of action always following employment law legislation
  • Update and review HR Policies, procedures and guidelines, ensure policies and procedures are effective all the time
  • Manage employee relations such as absence, maternity and ensure practice is always current and compliant
  • Prepare any necessary work permits for Third country nationals, single permits, renewals, change in employer or any other changes that one might need
  • Follow up and oversee progress of staff development to ensure staff are receiving the appropriate training for their roles including performance reviews
  • Manage any organizational restructuring of company
  • Provide support, training and guidance to the employees to get the best out of them
  • Ensure that good HR records, electronic and manual are maintained and up to date on an ongoing basis
  • Issue letters, written warnings, when necessary, contracts of employment and any other documents and policies to each staff member 
  • Manage probationary reviews and appraisal reviews for all the employees
  • Approve annual leave and sick leave for employees
  • Sustain a constant positive environment for the employees to avoid turn over
  • Work hand in hand with the Health & Safety Coordinator to ensure that all policies are being adhered to within the Health & Safety guidelines and policies
Requirements
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Capability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Being able to multitask and have strong problem-solving skills and think outside the box
  • Knowledge of HR functions, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding Maltese Employment Law and best HR practices
  • Familiarity with Indigo Shireburn is considered an asset
  • HR Manager in a similar role having experience with at least 40 employees would be considered an asset
  • Diploma or Degree in HR and Employment Law will be considered an asset
