The Officer – Data Management will be a valuable resource assisting both the Data Engineer and the Data and Records Manager in their duties. He/She shall be contributing to proper data governance and data management by carrying out both technical tasks as well as administrative tasks.

Main Duties and Responsibilities - 
  • Assist in the Administration of SharePoint and on the current Document Management System, in line with the related Information Security process, and ensure that access rights are constantly aligned with the Access Control Matrix.
  • Assist in the administration of the Data Quality Tool and help address identified data-related issues.
  • Participate in Data Cleansing projects intended to ensure that identified data-related issues are resolved, leading to increased Data Quality.
  • Carry out technical duties related to the EARP project, if and when required.
  • Process tickets related to data management (e.g. creation of accounts, access rights, etc.)
  • Assist both the Data Engineer and the Data & Records Manager in their duties.
  • Perform the Data Extraction process by restoring, importing and exporting data in various database environments (MSSQL, MYSQL, MongoDB, AWS, etc.).
  • Assist in the implementation of a Data Warehouse for the Authority.
  • Assist in implementation, testing, and validating of data and software systems.
  • Audit data on a regular basis to ensure proper data integrity and quality.
  • Assist with ongoing Data Architecture Processes and Governance.
  • Carry out any other duties/tasks as may be instructed from time to time.


Requirements

  • In possession of a B.Sc. Degree in Computer Science and/or IT.
  • Microsoft Certification related in the line of work will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in a similar/related position will be considered an asset.
  • Hands-on experience in using SQL Server data tools and sound knowledge of SQL will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in maintaining and administering database environments and in tuning their performance will be considered an asset.
  • Good knowledge of XML, XSD technologies will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in gathering requirements and/or building power BI reports will be considered an asset.
  • Be comfortable in communicating with various stakeholders.
  • Have a passion to learn and to try new features that can help our organisation.
