The role will form part of the Operations and Treasury Department and will be  responsible for handling routine banking operations and treasury management procedures relating to the Bank’s core banking business operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supporting the day-to-day back office banking processes and payment operations, and providing operational support on the administration of the Bank’s corporate banking services  and treasury management. Other responsibilities include:

  • Processing of customer transactions and ensuring that movements are accurately reflected in the Bank’s core banking system;
  • Assisting with the processing of the Banks’ products in line with the Bank’s internal policies and procedures;
  • Answering and following-up transaction and product related queries;
  • Reconciling the Bank’s Nostro accounts;
  • Settlement of treasury operations;
  • Performing internal reporting functions within the Operations & Treasury Department;
  • Keeping abreast with regulatory changes that impact the Bank’s operations and treasury management;
  • Liaising with the Finance, Risk, Compliance and Business Development functions of the Bank;
  • Liaising with relevant institutions in Malta and abroad as required;
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • A professional qualification in Banking, Finance or related areas
  • Good analytical and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both written and spoken business English
  • Have 1 to 2 years' relevant working experience preferably in banking or in the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of SWIFT will be considered an asset
