We seek a skilled and motivated Risk Manager to join our clients dynamic Risk and Compliance team.
Duties:
• Preparation of the regulatory suite of documents, including the ICAAP, ILAAP and recovery plan, and relevant policies and procedures;
• Planning, designing, and implementing risk management processes, tools, and systems to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor and report risks, including maintaining a rolling risk register;
• Supporting the development and strengthening of the organization internal control systems and overarching risk management framework;
• Preparation of the financial risk management section found in the annual report;
• Ownership of the Risk Monitoring Committee, including development and monitoring of key risk indicators (KRIs);
• Attending and presenting reports to the Audit and Risk Committee and other relevant committees on request;
• Reviewing new products available to the public;
• Attending various off-site information seminars to keep up-to-date with industry-relevant developments and emerging risks and ensuring dissemination of relevant knowledge across the organization;
• Protecting the independence of the second line of defence and fostering a healthy risk-aware culture across the bank;
• IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) exercise;
• Performing 2nd line checks on the 1st line of defence;
• Writing of procedures and policies;
• Participation and monitoring of data protection duties; and
• Participating in ad hoc projects and internal review exercises.
Requirements:
• Graduate education in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business, Maths and Statistics, or equivalent;
• A solid understanding of the banking industry;
• Experience in quantitative risk assessment;
• A minimum of 3 years experience working in industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication;
• A strong sense of integrity, ethics and independence, with the courage to speak out;
• An analytical / inquisitive mindset;
• An ability to work independently;
• A can-do attitude;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly, MS Word and Excel.
