Our client is looking for a Senior IT Networks & Security Engineer who will be working in close coordination and cooperation with a team of highly dedicated Networks and Security IT professionals based in Malta to manage the client's IP Network, Security and Voice services covering operations in Malta, Belgium, UK and on the Cloud.

Description:
  • Performing Architecture, Design, Governance and continuous updates to the network and security services, including firewalls, routers, cloud infrastructure, switches, voice platform, load balancers, network intrusion detection systems and DDOS protection
  • Championing the network security within the Group and working closely with existing Networks & Security team in Malta to make sure that all necessary configurations, controls and monitoring solutions are in place
  • Leading the monitoring and regular testing of the Network Security in close coordination with IT Security and Networks & Security teams
  • Automating infrastructure's procedures and service request fulfilment
  • Working with development teams to enhance and improve system operability
  • Conducting tests of network redundancy, resilience and failover of network elements to ensure up-time standards are fully achieved
  • Managing the network security incidents in close coordination with IT Security
  • Maintaining external relationships with the chosen service partners and hardware/software vendors
  • Supporting the Group in obtaining the necessary IT Security certification (e.g. ISO 27001, PCI-DSS)
Requirements:
 
  • A University degree in Computer Science or similar
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, NSE4, NSE5, Azure, AWS, CCSE, CISM or similar certification) are required
  • At least 2-3 years' experience in network security deployments and administration
  • Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VPN, IPSec, DDoS, switches, security protocols and standards, and firewall configuration
  • Knowledge of the cyber threats landscape, adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP), general attack stages, kill-chain and attack types
  • Experience working with Network Management Systems and protocols
  • Experience on Cloud infrastructure (Azure and AWS) and automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible would be considered as an asset
  • Experience in dealing with ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS certifications in the banking environment will be considered as an asset
  • Knowledge and experience in incident handling and incident response methodologies
