Description:
- Monitoring all strategic IT services and systems through relevant tools, performing routine maintenance and assisting in the generation of management and performance reports
- Handling L1 network support and access requests on security devices including firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers
- Optimising, controlling and automating IT Operations using the appropriate system tools, including schedulers and scripts
- Managing and monitoring the client 's backup schedules including offsite backup tapes administration
- Working collaboratively with security and operational staff to ensure that security measures are implemented and operational
- Participating in maintenance of regular test Backup Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan
- Ensuring that best practices and IT processes are followed, and when necessary, assisting in standardising and continually improving such processes
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of related work experience
- Advanced diploma in IT or a higher qualification, or equivalent technical knowledge and experience
- Good understanding of TCP/IP protocols and a variety of IT systems, applications, and their operational configurations
- Knowledge of Network Management Systems and protocols
- Certified Network Associate (CCNA) will be considered as an asset
- Knowledge scripting languages (such as Shell, PowerShell, and Perl), Unix or Linux OS, and databases (such as Microsoft SQL or Oracle will be considered an asset
- Knowledge of procedures and tools to carry out defined system and data backups and restores
- Good understanding of service desk and ticket management
- Strong customer focus and good understanding of ITIL
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
