Introduction

Our client is seeking to recruit an Anti-Money Laundering Officer to join their team. Reporting directly to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer, in this role, the successful candidate shall form part of the AML team responsible for assisting the company in adhering to its obligations under the directive and the implementing procedures as laid down by the FIAU.

Function

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting live and posting monitoring of transactions
  • Handling queries from correspondent banks and relevant authorities such as the FIAU / Police / Courts / AG in a timely manner
  • Liaising with other departments within the company
  • Monitoring of existing accounts to check that due diligence is up to date and that activity on the account is in line with the customer’s KYC
  • Preparing ML / FT risk assessment reports on prospective customers of the company in order to generate the appropriate risk rating
  • Checking Due Diligence and adequate KYC of prospective customers
  • Checking and vetting prospective customers against internal and external blacklists as well as customer acceptancy guidelines
  • Keeping up to date with relevant changes in national and international legislation on AML / CFT
  • Investigating suspicions of money laundering and submitting internal suspicion transaction reports to the MLRO when relevant
  • General office administration such as record keeping and data inputting

Requirements

  • At least 1 to 2 years in a similar position
  • A degree or diploma in a related topic
  • Analytical and practical understanding of workflow planning
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team and on own initiative
  • Candidates must be meticulous and organized, as well as attentive to details
