Our client, a well-established company within the payments industry is seeking to recruit a  Risk Manager to join their team and oversee the day to day risk activity within the company.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of working within the risk field and have a strong understanding of the payments and finance sector. 

Duties include:
 
  • Embedding and driving the Risk Management Framework throughout the business areas
  • Drafting and updating the Business Continuity and Recovery Plan in collaboration with respective units to limit risks 
  • Drafting, updating, overseeing and monitoring ?the implementation of the risk policies including the Operational Risk Management Policy among others and programmes
  • Develop and establish Key Risk Indicators
  •  Assisting the Directors to establish the risk appetite level, that the company is willing to take
  • Conducting a business impact analysis and risk assessment;
  • Provide?guidance and training to the Board of Directors, senior management and employees by developing ?material at an institutional level to enhance awareness of basic operational risk principles (in line with those of Basel III); 
  • Ensure company financial standards follow good industry standard practice (i.e. segregation of funds, liquidity ratio capital adequacy assessments in a quasi-bank approach); 
  • Implement an operational risk programme to extract and manipulate and analyse big data via a proprietary KRI/KPI mathematical/quantitative model;
  • Integration of both quantitative and qualitative data into the Risk Assessment process 
  • Work closely with members of the management committee to develop key risk control documents in line with evolving business needs
  • Providing the Board of Directors with quarterly reports 
  • revising?the program in light of changes in the needs of the organization, and in the law and policies and procedures
  • Independently investigating?and acting on matters related to risk, including, but not limited to, the drafting of incident post mortem reports with the recommendations for remedial actions; 
  • Draft and maintain a risk and control register; 
  • Perform yearly review of the Employer’s critical business functions; 
  • Perform a yearly “Montecarlo Stress Testing” with appropriate risk scenarios to assess processes, system and behavioural failures and vulnerabilities; 
  • Review websites, processes, procedures, content, client facing literature, partners’ contracts from a risk perspective;
  • Overseeing all Operational risks including management information, key risks and trends;
  • Assisting the AML-CFT in the analysis of overall AML-CFT risk including jurisdiction risk assessment.
Requirements: 
  • In possession of a degree from a recognized educational body in Finance/Banking Minimum of 3 years experience in a management role in a regulated financial services entity or with the local regulatory body
  • Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies on all risk matters
  • Written and oral skills in English
  •  Possess a professional integrity 
  •  Ability to take ownership of tasks 
  • PQ'd by MFSA as a Risk Officer
